Take Me HOME!

Home - Marc Broussard

So I was sitting around the house enjoying this amazing 85 degree weather. It feels like spring. Spring always makes me think of Crawfish parties at Ole Miss. There is nothing quite like a nice spring day sitting outside with a table draped with old newspapers and covered with steaming mounds bright red crawfish, yellow corn and spice fighting potatoes. You know this gets me thinking. Since I am a chef maybe i should share with you how to boil crawfish.

Ole Miss Crawfish Boil

Ingredients and Tools
  • 1 cooler full of LIVE delta crawfish
  • 1 bag of red potatoes
  • 12 ears of mini corn on the cob
  • 2 cases of Keystone
  • 1 package of Zatarain's Pro Boil
  • 1 30 qt. propane Steamer/ fryer
  • 1 stack of Daily Mississippians to form your table cloth.
Step 1. Grab yourself a KeyStone pop the top and and enjoy. Then Simply fill the Steamer with water add your Zaterains and bring up to a boil. Step 2. Open your second Keystone and enjoy then add your potatoes and cook for about 15 min. Next as you can guess grab a fresh keystone then add your corn continue to cook for about 10 min. Next add your crawfish make sure you have enough water to cover them all. Put the cover on the crawfish untill they turn bright red. Then its simply just pulling the steamer basket out of the pot and dumping your boil on to said newspaper. The rest is pretty simple. Pick up a crawfish by grabbing the part of the body directly behind the head with your left hand. Then using your right thumb and index finger grab the tail and pull. Then its just a matter of pulling the meat out of the tail, sucking the spice out of the shell and chasing it with your beer. Its pretty simple folks If you still need help heres a video.

Well thats about it guys Just remember help control the pet population, have your pet spayed or neutered.
